Valentine’s day forever
Today is the special day in the year when people all over the world display to others how much they mean to them. My hope is that they display it every day and today’s the day they choose to go all out!
So if you are here on V-DAY reading my post, HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY. I am honored to have you here. I wish you a beautiful day filled with surprises from your loved ones and from God.
EXTRA SPECIAL
This year Valentine’s day is an extra special day because it’s the start of Lent. For those who do not know what Lent is, in short, it is the span of time in the church calendar that starts with Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday. Ash Wednesday commemorates the beginning of Jesus’ 40-day fasting and temptation in the desert, and Easter Sunday commemorates Jesus’ resurrection from the grave after his crucifixion.
Starting LENT on VDAY sounds great because it makes it more special. As we meditate on what this means, be reminded that God displayed HIS great love by giving HIS only Son in order for us to experience eternal life with HIM through HIS Son Jesus Christ. What love is this?! A love so deep, so wide, and so high. Uncomparable and unfathomable.
In honor of that, I want to share how I plan to spend the next 40 days.
Just like Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself, I purpose my heart to dedicate more time to the One who truly matters. I want to seek and know God more. In order for me to do that, I need to be devoted to Him. Devoted to do His will because He is what really matters. Yeah, having work, friends, school, family, and a social life is cool, but if I don’t have Him then those things become just a burden.
“If a man wants to be used by God, he cannot spend all of his time with people.”
– A. W. Tozer
Food For Thought:
I leave you with this.
If someone were to ask your parents, friends, child, spouse “who is ___(your name )______ most important person in life?”, how would they respond?
As for me, I hope they’d respond with “God is the most important person in Natalie’s life”.
During the next 40 days, you will see less and hear less of me so that I can see more of HIM.
“He must increase, I must decrease.”
-John 3:30
Will you join me in this journey?
XOXO,
Natalie
